Portable power for an outdoor seating area: watts, runtime and dry placement
A battery power station can support selected low-power equipment. Size it from measured loads, protect the complete unit from weather and avoid confusing portable backup with permanent electrical installation.

List the devices that need power: perhaps a router, payment tablet, a few lamps and one fan. Separate essential tasks from optional decoration. Record each device's input requirements and whether it needs AC, USB or another supported output. Some equipment has a starting surge, while phone chargers may draw much less after charging. A portable battery is not automatically the right answer for heaters, cooking appliances or an entire commercial premises. Start with the smallest useful backup task and check that every connected device remains compatible.
Understand watts and watt-hours
Watts describe power at a moment; watt-hours describe an amount of stored energy. A hypothetical 1,000 Wh battery supplying a steady 100 W load has a ten-hour ideal calculation. Real runtime is shorter because of conversion losses, the unit's own consumption, battery management and changing loads. If an explicitly assumed 80% usable allowance is used, the same example becomes eight hours; that is a planning illustration, not a guarantee or a specification for a named model. Leave reserve for the period that matters and verify performance before relying on it.
One product example with regional checks
EcoFlow's DELTA 3 Plus is listed with 1,024 Wh nominal capacity and 1,800 W AC output on the cited manufacturer specifications. A Philippines manufacturer store also presents this model, demonstrating a regional listing rather than proof of delivery elsewhere in Asia. Check the socket type, AC voltage, plug, model suffix and local servicing before comparing an offer. A US package should not be assumed equivalent to a Thailand-market package. Manufacturer expansion options and charging claims must be checked against the exact battery combination being purchased.
A battery-pack rating is not a rain rating for the whole unit
EcoFlow's own explanation distinguishes IP65 protection for battery-pack components from IP20 protection for the complete unit in the discussed range, including DELTA 3 Plus. Do not interpret an IP65 marketing panel as permission to leave exposed sockets in rain. Place the unit in a dry, ventilated, stable location following its manual, away from drinks and washing water. Do not tightly wrap it or block cooling vents to keep it dry. Keep it out of escape routes and away from places where customers can pull its cables.
Keep installation and charging straightforward
Use approved, compatible charging equipment and respect the manufacturer's temperatures and load limits. Never connect a power station into a building socket to feed the premises. Any permanent integration belongs to a qualified electrician using an approved design. A portable setup should supply only the intended devices directly through suitable connections. Avoid solar-panel combinations chosen only because the plugs look similar: input voltage and current limits matter. Staff should know how to stop use if a unit is damaged, unusually hot or affected by water.
Compare the ownership details
Ask who provides repairs locally, whether commercial use is covered, what capacity-retention terms actually mean and how transport of a faulty battery is handled. For the chosen load, run a supervised trial and record hours, settings and remaining charge. Decide when it will recharge and who checks readiness. If the goal is simply to keep several table lamps running, rechargeable lamps may be a simpler alternative. The best equipment choice is the one with a clear purpose, an achievable charging routine and dependable local support.
